I did a side-by-side test of scotch bonnet hot sauce against my usual habanero hot sauce. The habanero was hotter but simpler. The scotch bonnet was slightly less hot but infinitely more complex. Fruity, almost floral, with a warmth that lingered differently. I understand now why Caribbean cooks are specific about which pepper they use.
