Best way to understand the sofrito family across Latin regions?

By Clinton R Thomas · June 26, 2026
I know Puerto Rican sofrito is different from Cuban sofrito which is different from Dominican sofrito. But I am having trouble finding a systematic way to understand how they differ and why. Is it really just the vegetables and herbs that change, or is there a deeper difference in technique and timing?
